Within the BMCU IIm units a large number of modern hardware-components is combined into an innovative platform. The standard operating system Windows CE 5/6 and Mobile 6 allows seamless integration into all recent system and application environments. The combination of an integrated fingerprint sensor with RFID technologies sets new standards in the realm of security applications. The application of multiple wireless components ranging from Bluetooth, to WLAN to the worldwide available GPRS systems allows solutions of every scale without expensive wiring. Thanks to the full-time online connectivity of the BMCU II client-server-based applications are possible, where all acquired data is made available just-in-time, and even remote software updates are available.

Flight Navigation System and Recorder

Fleet Management System

C’est un véritable PC, sous Windows CE, avec le plus puissant des processeurs actuels pour ce type d’application (Intel PXA270), 64 Mo de mémoire RAM et 32 Mo de Flash. Il permet ainsi de développer directement sur le terminal, tout en simplifiant les opérations de développement (nous allons le voir plus loin), avec une connectique très riche pour s’interfacer avec tous types de périphériques.
L’Eclaireur V est un boîtier au format DIN autoradio, qui intègre en série un GPS haute sensibilité de dernière génération et un modem GPRS. Ce sont des atouts appréciables pour réduire les temps et les coûts d’installation : il s’installe dans des emplacements standards, et l’antenne GPS peut être placée n’importe où dans le véhicule.
C’est une des forces de l’Eclaireur V : pouvoir être interfacé en standard avec tous types de périphériques : Un port VGA pour brancher un écran tactile,Deux ports USB, Un port Ethernet, Huit ports série RS232, pour brancher : imprimante, volu-compteur, chrono-tachygraphe, lecteur de chèques, terminal de paiement…, Un port série RS485, Un bus CAN pour le brancher sur l’ordinateur de bord du camion, Deux lecteurs de cartes mémoires : Compact Flash et SD-Card, Des entrées/sorties pour des capteurs extérieurs (entrées analogiques, logiques et comptage, sorties relais), Un connecteur pour lecteur de badge. Interface Box for Medical Infusion Pump

A long series of manual processing steps is required from the doctor's drug prescription to the actual medication. Each of these steps is error-prone and can potentially endanger the patient's life, e.g. if infusion bags get mixed up during this process and wrong medication is provided. To avoid as many manipulation errors as possible, Arcomed has developed a system that allows the monitoring of the entire procedure. This system connects the doctor PC, the pharmacy PC and the infusion pump at the patient by means of the hospital network.
The Unique Box is a network enabled microprocessor system that is directly placed with the infusion pumps. It acts as a gateway between the infrared port of the pumps and a conventional Ethernet network. The Unique Box also includes a bar code scanner used to identify the patient's ID and the ID tags on each drug (syringe or infusion bag). The system is therefore able to verify whether a drug is placed in the correct pump. Additionally, the pump's parameters can be configured automatically since the prescription can be requested through the network. The network interface can also be used to receive patient data or to monitor the infusion process. The Unique Box can even be used in non-hospital environment, such as home care. For this application, the Ethernet interface is replaced by a dial-up connection over a GSM/GPRS modem. A key feature of the entire system is the communication security: Unique Box has to be immune to denial of service attacks, must block unauthorized access, and the communication channel needs to be encrypted so that sniffing is impossible.
