Protea is a computer carrier board that turns Toradex® Colibri modules into  ready-to-use computer boards. Toradex® enhances it's product portfolio with another stunning platform. Protea is an embedded PC which can be mounted into a standard DIN rail housing for use in the control cabinet or a terminal box.
Truly Embedded
Protea is designed for industrial requirements: The deployment of Intel/Marvell XScale technology results in a very low power architecture with fanless operation and therefore high reliability.
Furthermore, Protea provides a Display Interface. The system is mainly intended for maintenance purposes and is fully accessible via remote access.
Communication
Protea offers standard connectors for the communication interfaces used to build state-of-the-art products - 2x Ethernet, USB host/client, CAN, RS232 and RS485/RS422.
An SD/MMC slot allows to add even more functionality such as memory extensions or Wireless LAN.
