Has the MCU on the Apalis TK1 functionalities in addition to extending the interfaces in the Linux BSP?

The Apalis TK1 datasheet states that “(T)the MCU (NXP Kinetics K20) extends the module with two Controller Area Network (CAN) interfaces, several ADC, additional GPIOs and several other low-speed interfaces. Since the controller is independent of the Tegra K1, it can be used for hard real time and security
critical tasks.”

  • Is the MCU used in the Apalis Linux BSP v2.7b+ used for other functionalities as well?
  • Or can one disable the driver for the MCU by blacklisting it by adding blacklist apalis-tk1-k20 in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf without worries to impact some image default functionality then?

No, please note however that V2.7 Beta 1+ is no longer supported if that is what you are talking about. We only support stable or the latest beta releases.

Yes, bedsides of course ADC, CAN and resistive touch.
