Apalis Evaluation Board Connected to VGA not Getting ON

hi sir, I connected DC power supply to Apalis iMX6 evaluation board and connected a VGA cable from it to the monitor. I am not able to get any output to the monitor.please help what to do. And i followed what the Toradex people said even thought i didn’t get ON the monitor…please any suggestion for that…

Hi

Please have a look here on how to setup the used display output and resolution.
Note that the Apalis iMX6 by default uses the HDMI port for display output.

So on the U-Boot command line one would change the vidargs variable, e.g. for a 1024x768M@60 resolution:

setenv vidargs 'video=mxcfb0:dev=vdac,1024x768M@60,if=RGB565 video=mxcfb1:off video=mxcfb2:off video=mxcfb3:off fbmem=32M'
saveenv

Note that there is a reason why we ask with what version of things you are working…

Please have a look at this answer to a question which is similar. I would suggest to search in community before posting, few of your issues/queries might got answered in other discussions, also I would suggest to read this.

i opened new command prompt and i getting like this problem plz help for further .alt text

with SDK we’re only targeting 64-bit host operating system. If you have a 64-bit machine you’ll need to install 64-bit linux distribution

i am really thx you sir i am using 32 bit …i will change that.and one more problem please help from this i am not getting the window i connected as per the step and i power on monitor not getting on

Dear sir,
as per the above picture i connected the vga cable to the monitor and i powered on the board but i am not getting the monitor to ON.
1.how to go U-boot command line and how i change the setenv vidargs variable.
1. setenv vidargs ‘video=mxcfb0:dev=vdac,1024x768M@60,if=RGB565 video=mxcfb1:off video=mxcfb2:off video=mxcfb3:off fbmem=32M’
2.saveenv

You would need to enter that on the U-Boot serial debug console. Basically as you showed on your first picture above however instead of the Linux prompt you do want to power-cycle and do it immediately on the U-Boot prompt.

BTW: Did you run the Toradex Easy Installer already resp. at all? Or asked differently what exact hardware/software versions of things are we actually talking about?

There is no such thing as an Apalis iMX6 Evaluation Board. There is the Apalis Evaluation board plus an Apalis iMX6 module. However which exact flavour/version thereof you missed stating.

sir,

where can i get the U-boot console.

i am new to this. please help

Only starting with Apalis iMX6Q 2GB IT V1.1C modules will come with the Toradex Easy Installer pre-installed. So either you launch that one via recovery mode or refer to the legacy update procedure. As for the former it is again a 64-bit binary:

[user@host Apalis-iMX6_ToradexEasyInstaller_1.0-20170605]$ file recovery/imx_usb
