USB host on Aster carrier board

Hi,
I have Aster carrier board with Colibry imx7s module and my USB keyboard (or mouse) connected to USB host port is not working. According to datasheet there is only one USB port on imx7s module. I tried to using both of the two USB ports (it should be the bottom one) on Aster board without luck. Unfortunetly there is no 5V between pin 1 and 4 on USB ports.

I am using default linux shipped with imx7s module: Colibri_iMX7_LinuxImageV2.6_20160630

Where is a problem?

dmesg and lsusb output:

On the Colibri iMX7 module only one USB port is available (lower port at X9 and X10 connectors on Aster board).
This port has a dual role (Host/Client) and if +5V voltage is detected on the X10 connector it will be switched to device mode and +5V power to X9 will be disabled.
According to the log provided you have a cable connected to X10. If you want to use this port as a host - disconnect the USB cable from X10.

Hi

Note that on top of Alex’s answer, for the Colibri iMX7S you need this patch in order to switch on VBUS on an Aster carrier board.

I recommend updating to the latest and greatest image.

Hi,
I do not have connected cable to X10 connector and I am using lower conector on X9. I will try newest linux image…

Thanks.

Hi,
so I updating to latest linux image “Colibri-iMX7_LXDE-Image_2.7b3±20170630.tar.bz2” using sdcard and uart console but imx7s module not wake up after reset. UART console and also VGA display are empty after reset. Device looks dead …
