No Uboot Output

Hello there

I have two modules that needs to be recovered.

I get no output on serial console when I power up the module. I tried putting the modules in recovery mode but it didn’t help.

On my Linux machine when I issue lsusb | grep -i free I get the following output.

Bus 001 Device 036: ID 15a2:0061 Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. i.MX 6Solo/6DualLite SystemOnChip in RecoveryMode

The module will not load any thing nor will it accept any input on the debug serial console. I need help to recover these modules.

So your module looks like being quite healthy just sitting in recovery mode. Please try either the legacy recovery procedure as described in the following article on our developer website or alternatively try our new Toradex Easy Installer recovery as mentioned here.

Hello Marcel,

I was able to recover one of the modules using the procedure mentioned above. I have another module which is not in recovery mode i.e. lsusb does not show the module.

How can I recover the second module ?

I have the exact same problem like the post you mentioned above. The second module got in this state due to an error updating uboot.

I am using Iris Board with Colibri IMX6 module.

I cannot get the module in the recovery mode. I tried to short the pads but nothing works.

Should I try to short these pads as mentioned in this post ?

You mean the device does enumerate on USB but not as being in recovery mode?

The second module got in this state due to an error updating uboot.

But then it is unlikely the same issue.

That only helps should the module be in recovery mode but not accept anything loaded to it.

The module does not show up in lsusb output. There is no device with ID - 15a2:0061 on lsusb output.

The module is “Colibri imx6S 256MB V1.0A” with Iris Rev 1.1. I cannot recollection which version of Linux I was using. It is most likely greater than v2.5.

I will try to answer as many question as I can. Please let me know what additional information I can supply you with.

Well, if it does not enumerate as a USB device even after properly shorting the recovery mode pad and power-cycling then there is something entirely wrong with it. I suggest you doing an RMA so we may analyse it further.
