Can the HDMI DDC_DATA and DDC_CLOCK pins for the Colibri i.MX6 Module be pulled up to +3.3V?

In the Colibri i.MX6 datasheet the DDC_I2C pins are listed as 5V Tolerant due to an on-board level shifter. We are using an HDMI Protection IC (TI TPD12S521DBTR) on our custom carrier board that already has the level shifters for the DDC Interface. For this reason we would like to just tie these signals to +3.3V instead of +5V on the Colibri side (See Attached).link text

The DDC_I2C of the Colibri i.MX6 will still work if you pull them up on the carrier board just to 3.3V. Important is that you pull them up since on the module, there are no pull up resistors assembled.
