Toradex- and NXP-Kernels

Hi all,

I need to know how close the Linux-Kernel from Toradex is related to the one from NXP.
According to the Chip errata from NXP there are workarounds for some hardware-bugs in there BSP.

Concretely:
Can I be sure all the bugfixes and workarounds from NXP release imx_3.0.35_4.1.0 are contained in the Toradex-branch toradex_4.9-1.0.x-imx?

Thanks,
Dietmar

Well, imx_3.0.35_4.1.0 has nothing to do with toradex_4.9-1.0.x-imx which is based on the fslc community BSP which in turn is based on NXP’s BSP. So you may rather want to pose that question to NXP.

Please, further note that toradex_4.9-1.0.x-imx is no longer supported as it got superseded by the following:

http://git.toradex.com/cgit/linux-toradex.git/log/?h=toradex_4.9-2.3.x-imx

Let me tell my question in other words:

if the Toradex-kernel toradex_4.9-something-imx is based on the fslc-kernel 4.9-something_else-imx

and

4.9-something_else-imx in turn is based on the NXP-kernel imx_4.9.x-something_different
then everything is fine.

If the Toradex-kernel are directly base on the kernels from kernel.org without patches from NXP

or

based on NXP-kernels older than imx_3.0.35_4.1.0
then maybe we have a problem.

Is everything fine?

Thanks,
Dietmar

Yes, with that limited understanding of how things work, everything is fine.
