OpenEmbedded - Colibri iMX8X - Machine colibri-imx8x in-existent

Hi

I just received my new Colibri-iMX8X sample. Now I would like to build the corresponding Yocto/OpenEmbedded Linux image for it.

In your OpenEmbedded (core) article, you are mentioning the colibri-imx8x MACHINE configuration. Unfortunately, this machine is in-existent. The only i.MX8 MACHINE config I could find, is colibri-imx8qxp in meta-toradex-nxp.

Can you please elaborate on this?

Thanks and best regards,
Tonio

hi @tgsell

Could you share the picture of your Colibri iMX8 module?

hi @jaski.tx

Thanks for your answer. But sorry, I do not understand what my Colibri module (it is a Colibri iMX8 QuadXPlus 2GB Wi-Fi / Bluetooth IT | V1.0B ) has to do with my question.

The question is related to the Yocto/OpenEmbedded build system and Toradex’s documentation of the same.

Hi

I just wanted to be sure, which module exactly are you talking about, since there are four different modules as described here.

The machine name “colibri-imx8qxp” was originally given by NXP and will be changed to “colibri-imx8x” in Toradex Repository, once Bsp 3.0 is released for Colibri-iMX8X.
Currently use the machine name “colibri-imx8qxp” please.

Hi @jaski.tx

Thanks for you answer. I did not know that you have already pre-released different Colibri iMX8X modules.

Ok, I will go with colibri-imx8qxp for the moment.

Do you know, when Bsp 3.0 is officially released for Colibri-iMX8X?

Thanks and best regards,
Tonio

Planned release date is still by the end of this month, so stay tuned…
