Supported features of mainline kernel variants for TK1?

Hi,
looking at Embedded Linux Release Matrix | Toradex Developer Center I see that Toradex now offers kernel 4.14 and 5.4 as alternatives to the nVidia downstream kernel 3.10 (Linux4Tegra).

When we last asked about mainline (How can I controll the GPIOs from the internal K20 IC on the Apalis TK1 module? - Technical Support - Toradex Community), it sounded like mainline releases will never support all features offered by the Tegra CPU and/or the TK1 module.

Is there detailed list of features tested on the TK1 with each release?
What is the status of support for the mainline kernels? If for example we find a bug related to mainline kernels, will Toradex support there or do you plan to focus support on the Linux4Tegra Kernel 3.10 only?

Thanks!

Hi @gsch

Thanks for writing to the Toradex Community!

Unfortunately not. Actually camera/multimedia features are not working and will only work in the future if someone puts lot of effort on this topic. If you need those features, then you may talk to our Sales Department. By the way, OpenGL ES works fine in the mainline kernel.

Usually we only support what is in mainline kernel given by the OpenSource Community. If you need help on a specific Bug, then you need to discuss with our Sales Department.

Best regards,
Jaski
