We have just received a new Verdin i.mx8M Plus as well as its Verdin carrier board (V1.1A). It has the multimedia image installed by default:
root@verdin-imx8mp:~# hostnamectl
Static hostname: verdin-imx8mp
Icon name: computer
Machine ID: c065814c757b460ea7d0a6398a080957
Boot ID: 81b3e0b84c6043d88fc8df24f90b8909
Operating System: TDX Wayland with XWayland 5.2.0-devel-202103+build.8 (dunfell)
Kernel: Linux 5.4.91-5.2.0-devel+git.c59b3c2da1e9
Architecture: arm64
I could generate an EZ installer image with Yocto and would like to install it. Unfortunately, I was not able to start the Toradex EZ installer, the process just hangs:
Verdin-iMX8MM_ToradexEasyInstaller_2.0b7-20210415 ➞ ./recovery-linux.sh

The CPU seems to be in bootstrap mode since it is recognized by listing devices:
./recovery/uuu -lsusb

If I try to load the bootloader manually, it fails with an USB error:
sudo ./recovery/uuu imx-boot

I didn’t find any release for the i.mx8 plus and consequently work with the mini release, wondering if that could be an issue. Another difference with what I could find on your documentation is that it has USB C instead of micro USB but it should probably not be a big deal … right?
- Is there something I’m doing wrong or missing?
- Is is officially supported on Verdin i.mx8m plus?
Thanks for the pointers!
