Highlights
The Texas Instruments (TI) AM62P SoC comes with up to four powerful 64-bit Armv8 Cortex-A53 cores, making it a cost effective choice for running Linux with a modern graphical user interface. The Verdin AM62 targets a wide range of applications, including Industrial Automation, Medical, Transportation, Smart Cities, Test and Measurement, and many more.
Verdin Product Family
The Verdin AM62P is ideal for accelerated graphical applications, offering a powerful GPU with 50 GFLOPs of theoretical performance (more than 3x the theoretical performance of a i.MX 8M Plus). Additionally, the SoM's triple display controller allows for up to 3x Display Outputs on MIPI DSI and/or LVDS interfaces, with a maximum resolution of 3840x1080 (at 60fps).
Offering similar compute performance, but with more GPU performance compared to the Verdin iMX8M Mini, the Verdin AM62P comes at a slightly lower price point. It makes the Verdin AM62P ideal for cost-sensitive applications looking for a quad-core processor, with a more complete package including a performant GPU.
With a heterogeneous multi-core architecture, the Verdin AM62P also offers an ARM Cortex-R5 for complex real-time and safety-critical applications with extremely low latency. You can also use the asymmetric multi-core architecture for a connected low power mode or to increase security.
The Verdin AM62P SoM powered by the TI Sitara AM62P SoC features a wide input voltage range that allows it to be powered from a broad range of power sources. Driven by the need for more power-efficient devices, and supported by the decreasing process sizes, the I/O voltage levels of the SoC pins are trending to decrease too. Both the wide input voltage range and the 1.8V I/O voltage make the power supply designs for a Verdin carrier board simple, easy, and cost-efficient. These features altogether make the Verdin family of SoMs perfectly suited for battery-powered applications as well.
The Verdin AM62P SoM offers a wide range of interfaces ranging from simple GPIOs, industry-standard I2C, SPI, USB, native CAN FD, and UART buses, up to MIPI CSI camera interfaces. The Verdin AM62P also features one Gigabit Ethernet PHY interface and one RGMII (for a second GbE), both with TSN, on the module.
The Sitara AM62P SoM is available with an optional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth interface. The wireless interfaces provided offer state-of-the-art integration for wireless devices and infrastructure and contribute to a great out-of-the-box end-user experience.
The AM62P SoM is available with a tightly integrated Torizon Cloud (formerly Torizon Platform) accelerating the development and maintaining your products. Some key features include highly secure and reliable, remote and offline updates, fleet monitoring and remote access.
Torizon
Torizon
Torizon makes modern, iterative product development easier by seamlessly integrating hardware, an OS, development tools, remote updates and fleet monitoring. This makes it a scalable solution for devices requiring high reliability and security.

Be Fast, Be Secure, Be Reliable
Torizon accelerates your Verdin AM62P project. The ready and maintained embedded Linux OS with simple tools allow you to focus on your application. Torizon is built with Continuous Delivery in mind, so you can ship early and update iterative. Secure and Reliable Built-in Remote Updates, Device Monitoring, and Remote access reduces your risk. It lets you detect issues before they get serious, debug devices in the field, and take action. Torizon also makes it easy to comply with new regulations like the EU Cyber Resilience Act.
Get an overview For Application Developer For Tech LeadsOur collaboration with Torizon represents a significant step forward in helping manufacturers not only comply with evolving cybersecurity requirements but also accelerate their time-to-market. Together, we are providing the tools and expertise needed to foster innovation in today’s security-conscious market.

Operating Systems
Verdin AM62P comes with a free maintained Embedded Linux Operating System. You can either take our Reference Images based on the Yocto Project, or you can use Torizon OS. Torizon OS is also built with the Yocto Project but it is a ready-to-use Embedded Linux distribution. It is configurable for your custom carrier board via the simple to use TorizonCore Builder Tool. This enables developers to concentrate solely on their applications, without having to worry about the underlying operating system and low-level device drivers.

Torizon is a ready-to-use Linux-based software platform ideal for use in areas like industry and medicine, where reliability is critical. It is a developer-friendly ecosystem that simplifies the process of developing and maintaining embedded software..

Toradex develops and maintains a Yocto Project-compatible, production-quality embedded Linux BSP in-house.
