We are pleased to announce the 5.4.0 release of the Toradex Easy Installer for our Computer on Modules.

This release shares the same base as that of our other embedded Linux offerings, the BSP Layers and Reference Images for Yocto Project and Torizon.

Updates and Highlights

• Added support for second Ethernet interface on Verdin iMX8M Plus
  The Verdin iMX8M Plus has a second RGMII interface. The Verdin Development Board implements a PHY circuit that enables a second Ethernet interface on the connector X35.
  You can use either the first (X25) or the second (X35) interface independently.
  

Hardware Support

• Added support for upcoming Colibri iMX6ULL 1GB
  Toradex is developing a new version of Colibri iMX6ULL, with 1GB RAM and 4GB flash. This is the first release that supports this Computer on Module.
  
• Sample products: Apalis iMX8, Apalis iMX8X, Colibri iMX8X, Verdin iMX8M Plus V1.0B and Verdin iMX8M Mini V1.1A
  The second generation of Verdin products is fully supported by Easy Installer. Verdin iMX8M Mini V1.1A may come with Easy Installer 2.0bX pre-installed and we recommend using the latest release, version 5.4.0. You can upgrade to the newer version using the pre-installed one without having to go through recovery mode.
• Volume products: Apalis iMX6, Apalis TK1, Colibri iMX6, Colibri iMX6ULL 512MB and Colibri iMX7
  Computer on Modules that are in volume production according to our Product Change Notification (PCN) Policy will still come with older versions of Easy Installer.
  We recommend that you only upgrade to the latest release in production programming if it is required: that is if you are using Torizon.
  Otherwise, you can continue using the pre-installed version and only test version 5.4.0 during development.
• Legacy support for Apalis iMX8X V1.1A and older, Colibri iMX8X V1.0B
  The specified hardware versions are samples that have been superseded. Please migrate to newer hardware versions as soon as possible.
  Easy Installer 5.4.0 works with limited functionality: you can only load it into the RAM via recovery mode, but installing it into the SoM flash memory is no longer supported.
