Toradex BSP Layers and Reference Images for Yocto Project 7.0.0 Quarterly Release
We are pleased to announce the Toradex BSP Layers and Reference Images for Yocto Project 7.0.0 quarterly release.
This is the first regular release for the Toradex BSP Layers and Reference Images for Yocto Project 7 series. According to our Embedded Linux Lifecycle and Releases, the 6 series has transitioned from active to maintenance, and Toradex BSP Layers and Reference Images for Yocto Project 7 is the only currently active series.
Updates and Highlights
- Yocto Project update: Upgrade to Yocto Project 5.0 (Scarthgap): Our Toradex BSP Layers and Reference Images for Yocto Project now leverages the latest Long Term Support (LTS) version of the Yocto Project, Scarthgap 5.0
- Linux Kernel update to 6.6
- For NXP® i.MX 6/7 SoMs, the BSP was updated to the Toradex v6.6.53 based on Mainline Linux Kernel 6.6 from kernel.org
- For NXP® i.MX 8 SoMs, the BSP was updated to Toradex v6.6.23 based on NXP BSP L6.6.23_2.0.0
- For TI AM-based SoMs, the BSP was updated toToradex v6.6.32 based on TI Release '10.00.08'
- For NXP® i.MX 6/7 SoMs, the BSP was updated to the Toradex v6.6.53 based on Mainline Linux Kernel 6.6 from kernel.org
- Improve support for read-only rootfs
- Improve Verdin AM62 support: Select dynamically the maximum CPU speed during boot

- Verdin iMX8M Plus (Experimental)
- Verdin AM62 (Experimental)
