This is a demonstration of how to use the multi-core heterogeneous processor on our Colibri VF61. This module has a NXP®/Freescale VF6xx SoC which possesses a heterogeneous/asymmetrical multi-core architecture. The two cores – Arm® Cortex-A5 and Arm Cortex-M4 – can concurrently run different operating systems. In this video we are running Linux with QT on the Cortex-A5 and an ECOS real-time operating system on the Cortex-M4. The Cortex-M4 is responsible for motor controlling and the positioning and the Cortex-A5 the user interface.
