Enhanced Cybersecurity and FIPS 140-2 Compliance using NXP® i.MX 8X

Date: September 29, 2022

The road to cybersecurity compliance for regulated applications in the utilities, medical, and defense industries can be difficult. Achieving the required certifications can significantly increase timelines for development time/cost which can significantly delay a product launch.

This is especially true for FIPS 140-2/3 cryptographic module certifications that are becoming a key requirement in these industrial, medical, and defense applications. The certification requires specialized experience, extensive testing, and 12-24 months to go through the NIST certification process.

Secmation partnered with NXP® on the certification on specific i.MX 8X component part numbers to FIPS 140-2, Level 3. When used correctly, developers can add their applications to this highly capable processor available on Toradex SoMs and utilize the FIPS-certified cryptography without recertification keeping product launch on schedule.

During this webinar, Secmation explains how we can support this development by providing security engineering and security software development assistance in QNX or Torizon to enhance product cybersecurity.

Secmation provides OpenSSL engines and hardware resource managers utilizing the i.MX 8X Hardware Security Module (HSM) for both TorizonCore and QNX enabling rapid transition of existing applications. Secmation also provides customized security configurations of TorizonCore that add additional cybersecurity functionality to meet regulatory requirements.
