Toradex Expands Access to Verdin i.MX 95 Evaluation Kit:
A Game-Changer for Embedded Developers

If you work in embedded systems development, here's something you won't want to miss: Toradex is making it easier than ever to access the Verdin i.MX 95 Evaluation Kit (EVK), giving you streamlined access to cutting-edge technology that can help accelerate your projects.
Powered by NXP®’s i.MX 95 applications processor, this kit brings advanced computing capabilities to your fingertips. Toradex has a longstanding partnership with NXP, and as a Platinum Partner, it was no surprise that Toradex was the first embedded solution provider chosen by NXP to offer the i.MX 95 processor. Thanks to Toradex’s strong distribution partnerships with Mouser, Future Electronics, and now Arrow Electronics and Farnell, it’s more easily accessible to a global audience.
“The i.MX 95 family of application processors represents a step forward in NXP’s mission to advance safety, AI, and efficiency in edge computing. As a Platinum Partner of NXP, Toradex was an obvious choice for early access embedded solution partner for the i.MX 95 application processor family.” said Robert Thompson, Director, Edge Processing Ecosystem, Secure Connected Edge, NXP. “We are excited to see how Toradex’s collaboration with Arrow Electronics, Farnell, Future Electronics, and Mouser will further expand the reach of the new i.MX 95 applications processor, enabling developers to harness the full potential of edge platforms through Toradex’s robust distribution network and comprehensive support resources.”
The i.MX 95 family features a multi-core application domain with up to six Arm® Cortex®-A55 cores, as well as an independent safety domain consisting of high-performance Arm Cortex-M7 and Arm Cortex-M33 CPUs, combining low-power, real-time, and high-performance processing. The i.MX 95 also comes with NXP’s secure enclave, which adds a layer of hardware-based security.
Whether you’re looking to build innovative products for industrial automation, robotics, smart cities, or any other growing industry, the i.MX 95 is designed to help you prototype, test, and launch your ideas quickly and efficiently.
All of this makes the Verdin i.MX 95 Evaluation Kit (EVK) perfect for projects that need advanced AI capabilities but also require power efficiency and cost-effectiveness - think autonomous systems, edge devices, and IoT solutions. And when paired with Toradex’s embedded Linux offerings including Torizon, it’s easier to integrate security features that can help you comply with standards like the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
In short: you get all the power of cutting-edge tech, with top-tier security, and the ease of use to streamline your development process.
Samuel Imgrueth, CEO, Toradex, explains: “Our aim is to empower developers by providing seamless access to the Verdin i.MX 95 EVK through our extensive distributor network. We want to simplify the purchasing process, ensuring that developers can easily acquire the EVK while knowing that Toradex is here to support them—from rapid prototyping and development to volume production, with our new System on Modules and custom solutions. With the launch of the production versions of our i.MX 95-based SoMs, we’re excited to help innovators unlock the full potential of the i.MX 95.”
Toradex offers the i.MX 95 in three different System on Module (SoM) form factors:
- Verdin i.MX 95: A compact, cost-optimized SoM for low-to-mid-volume applications
- Aquila i.MX 95: A high-performance option for compute-heavy applications
- SMARC i.MX 95: One of Toradex’s first SMARC modules, designed for industrial-grade performance
Toradex offers Single Board Computers (SBCs) and customization services, so developers can build exactly what they need to bring their ideas to life quickly and cost-effectively. Of course, the hardware is just one part of the equation. That’s why Toradex provides Yocto-based Linux BSPs and the Torizon Suite - a set of tools designed to speed up development. With Torizon OS, you get a robust and reliable industrial Linux environment, plus the Torizon Tools suite to simplify customization and boost productivity. The Torizon Cloud service adds even more value by offering remote updates, reliability monitoring, and remote access.
The software ecosystem is designed to let you focus on your application, while Toradex handles the rest, making it easier to get to market faster and with greater confidence. Plus, Toradex has partnered with top industry players like QNX, Android, Qt, and more, ensuring that you have the right support for your chosen platform.
