System on Module

We are excited to announce the extended minimum product availability for our Apalis and Colibri iMX6 System on Modules -based on the NXP® i.MX 6 applications processors - to 2036! This change follows NXP's inclusion of its i.MX 6 applications processors into its Product Longevity program.

Our decision aligns with our commitment to customers and our well-established presence in the embedded market in the last two decades. Long-term availability has always been a key strength and focus for us at Toradex. We shipped our first SoM, the Colibri PXA270, for more than 15 years! The Apalis iMX6 and Colibri iMX6 SoMs were initially released in 2014.

This extension will reduce costs for our customers, but that's not all. We recognize that long-term availability and pin compatibility aren't very useful without the appropriate software support. And that's where our in-house Software Development team comes in, along with our Torizon Platform. You can learn more about our embedded Linux-based offerings on our Torizon website.
