Microsoft® Windows® Embedded, conhecido também como Windows CE, é um sistema operacional de 32-bit aberto e escalável que integra recursos de tempo real com tecnologias avançadas do Windows.

O Windows CE permite que você construa uma ampla gama de dispositivos, com recursos mínimos. Um dispositivo baseado em WinCE é projetado para uma aplicação específica e normalmente trabalha desconectado de outros computadores necessitando de um sistema operacional leve e determinístico no tratamento de interrupções.

Exemplos destes equipamentos são ferramentas industriais, controladores industriais, hubs de comunicação, terminais de ponto de venda e produtos para consumidor final como câmeras, IoT ou SmartTVs.

Board Support Package (BSP)

O Board Support Package da Toradex para Windows Embedded Compact é um dos BSPs mais avançados disponíveis no atual mercado. Além dos drivers tradicionais incluindo toda funcionalidade do Windows Embedded Compact standard, a BSP possui uma grande quantidade de drivers adicionais, bem como versões otimizadas de drivers padrão.

O bootloader Toradex e BSP foram projetados para ser muito configurável. Isso alivia o desenvolvedor do aplicativo do fardo de criar uma imagem. Em vez disso, as adaptações necessárias podem ser feitas por definições de registo e adicionando arquivos para o sistema de arquivos flash on-board.

O BSP está disponível para clientes Colibri aqui.

Os clientes que encomendam qualquer número de horas de Suporte receberão da Toradex Workspace para Platform Builder, da Microsoft, que permite ao cliente a construir exatamente a mesma imagem Windows Embedded Compact .

To interface between your desktop PC and the Colibri module, Toradex provides the following Windows XP utilities:

Remote Display	Control the Colibri module by a desktop PC (keyboard, mouse, display, file transfer) using a connection through ActiveSync (USB) or Ethernet.	-

Win CE Image Compressor	Reduce the size of the Windows Embedded Compact Image to about 50%. This leaves more flash space for user applications or the flash file system	10

As seguintes bibliotecas e exemplos de código são fornecidos como projetos de software ready-to-use para Visual Studio 2008.
