Delivers Safe, Secure and Scalable AI-enabled Edge Platforms

The Verdin EVK comes with features beyond the typical offerings of evaluation boards. It provides ample room for customization and scalability, making it a perfect fit for a wide array of applications.

Expansive Machine Vision

The i.MX 95's integrated eIQ® Neutron NPU allows for advanced Computer Vision with multiple cameras. Application development is supported by the award-winning eIQ® machine learning software development environment, supporting TensorFlow, PyTorch and ONNIX.

The Applications Processors' Image Signal Processor (ISP) supports HDR and advanced de-noising, and edge enhancement with support for color, monochrome, and RGB-IR camera sensors. Toradex's Partner Ecosystem further simplifies the integration of camera sensors for your needs.

High-Performance Computing

The i.MX 95 family features a multi-core application domain with up to six Arm® Cortex®-A55 cores, as well as an independent safety domain consisting of high-performance Arm® Cortex-M7 and Arm® Cortex-M33 CPUs, combining low-power, real-time, and high-performance processing. The i.MX 95 Verdin Evaluation Kit comes with LPDDR5 RAM, delivering the highest bandwidth for demanding Computing, Graphics, and Machine Learning Applications. The powerful GPU with OpenCL 3.0 allows additional processing power for Machine Learning and other Computing Loads.

Security and Safety Simplified

The i.MX 95 family integrates a secure enclave to streamline the implementation of security-critical functions like secure boot, cryptography, trust provisioning, and run-time attestation and simplify compliance with global Cyber security regulations, such as the upcoming EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).

In many applications, safety is non-negotiable. NXP® developed the i.MX 95 Applications Processors in compliance with automotive ASIL-B and industrial SIL-2 functional safety standards. NXP SafeAssure helps to meet the most stringent safety standards (ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.)

High-Speed Connectivity

Edge platforms in Industry 4.0, automotive connectivity domain controllers, and IoT smart city gateways will benefit from the integration of 10-gigabit Ethernet, along with 1000BASE-T1 Automotive Ethernet and 1-gigabit Ethernet ports. These ports come equipped with Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and IEEE 1588 capabilities. Toradex i.MX 95 Verdin Evaluation Kit includes high-speed Wi-Fi with 2.4/5 GHz Dual-band 1x1 Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5. M.2, mPCIe, and USB 3.0 interface allow to expended Verdin EVK with satellite radio, 5G, or even more powerful NPUs for machine learning.

Graphics and Multimedia

The integrated Arm® Mali GPU supports OpenGL® ES 3.2 and Vulkan® 1.2. OpenCL 3.0 enables rich, high-resolution graphical experiences or compute acceleration. The independent 2D GPU is part of the real-time domain and can blend graphics overlays for conveying critical information in safety or real-time applications. The Display controller allows support for several independent interdependent display output streams. The i.MX 95 Verdin EVK supports HDMI, MIPI-DSI MIPI-CSI, and LVDS Displays.

Comprehensive Software Support

Toradex and NXP work closely to provide excellent software support for fast and efficient product development and maintenance. That includes extensive developer documentation, local support, and integration with many Software providers for GUIs, AI, and connectivity. Frequent updates and extensive testing reduce maintenance costs and help with the update requirements of many of the new cybersecurity legislation. Torizon, the platform for mission-critical IoT Linux devices, provides a fully-integrated, secure, and reliable way to deliver updates and monitor devices in the field, even adding secure Remote Access capabilities.

NXP i.MX 95 Verdin EVK is integrated with Torizon. Torizon is simplifying the development and maintenance of mission-critical Linux Devices. It includes a ready-to-use Linux OS, built with the Yocto Project and fully open source. Verdin i.MX 95 EVK Support Status

Here you will find information on the current support status of the Verdin i.MX 95 EVK. Please note that the reason we have set it to the maximum Working (Blue) status is because it is currently in early access. The hardware and software in early access are not validated in the same way as samples and production products from Toradex. NXP/Toradex is frequently adding more support.
