Apalis ARM Family

ApalisApalis is a Computer on Module architecture that aims at seamlessly complementing the existing Colibri ARM family. Apalis comes with a wide range of new and exciting features, ensuring customers can develop the most advanced, robust products with minimum overhead and risk. Apalis supports a wide variety of industry standard interfaces, while at the same time providing advanced multimedia and high speed connectivity making it suitable for an almost unlimited number of applications.

The Apalis specification has been developed from in-depth research into diverse existing and emerging technologies. While primarily aimed at supporting ARM® based processors such as the NVIDIA® Tegra™ and NXP®/Freescale i.MX™, this standard is specifically designed to be device and chip architecture independent. The objective is to ensure future proofing of the interfaces, benefiting customers by providing for long product lifecycles and by continuing to offer access to leading edge technologies without compromise. Windows Embedded Compact, Embedded Linux and Android, support is available for these modules.

Toradex offers an extensive ecosystem including partners that offers various services such as Qt, PLC, OTA, security, etc. and carrier board design resources such as tools, design files, and many more.
Windows Embedded Compact
Toradex provides free pre-built images for Windows Embedded Compact 7 and 2013. The Run-time license is included in the price of the module. BSPs and workspaces are available for download on our developer website at no cost.
Toradex' embedded Linux BSPs are based on Ångström/ OpenEmbedded being fully Yocto project compatible. Many peripherals are also supported out-of-box.
Software Libraries and Tools
Toradex provides free software libraries for additional features including Camera Interface, SPI, PWM, I2C, CAN and cloud connectivity. A full tool-chain for bootloader and operating system updates is also available for download.
